Information You Provide
Search Terms
When you type a name, county, or location into a partner search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Jackson County Inmate Population does not keep a separate local log of those search terms.
Messages
If you email or otherwise send us a message, we may keep the message and your contact details long enough to respond and manage the request. We do not share those messages outside our organization unless the law requires it.
Information Collected Automatically
Like many websites, this site may collect basic technical data when pages load. That data helps with reliability, security, analytics, and ordinary site operations.
- Your IP address.
- Your browser type and version.
- Your device type and operating system.
- The pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring website, if one is provided.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies may be used to understand site traffic and visitor behavior. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features, analytics, or ad functions may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- To keep the site working and loading efficiently.
- To send search requests to the correct partner tool.
- To understand which Jackson County pages are most useful.
- To detect errors, outages, misuse, or security issues.
- To display advertising that may be relevant to visitor interests.
Outside Websites
This site links to sheriff, jail, court, ODRC, BOP, ICE, VINELink, government, and partner-search websites. Once you leave this site, the outside website's privacy notice and terms control how your information is handled.
Advertising partners may also use their own systems to measure ad performance or show interest-based ads across websites. Their tracking happens through their platforms, not through an official Jackson County or Ohio public-records system.
Who May Receive Information
We do not sell personal information. Information may be available to limited service providers or authorities in the following situations.
- Search partners that process lookup queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when required by a valid legal order.
Security Measures
Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards are used to protect information. No website, server, or internet transmission can be made fully secure, so we cannot promise that data will never be accessed without authorization.
Visitors Under 18

Your Choices
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of information you believe is wrong.
- Request deletion where retention is not required.
- Opt out of certain uses where the law gives that right.

This privacy notice may be revised from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date when that format is used.
